Types of Peels Available

There are four types of peels available: light, medium, deep, and very deep. The type of peel you receive will be determined by your aesthetician based on your skin type and the desired results. Look at this site to learn more about A Vi peel treatment.

Light peels are also known as superficial peels or lunchtime peels. They use a light acid to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, revealing the healthy, radiant skin underneath. Light peels are often used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven texture.

Medium peels penetrate deeper than light peels to reach the upper middle layer of skin called the papillary dermis. A medium peel can treat moderate wrinkles, pigmentation issues, and scarring.

Deep peels penetrate even further to the reticular dermis, which is the deepest layer of skin. Deep peels are used to treat severe sun damage, deeper wrinkles, advanced pigmentation issues, and precancerous lesions.

Very deep peels are the strongest type of peel available and should only be performed by a medical doctor or certified plastic surgeon. Very deep peels penetrate to the deepest layer of skin, the subcutaneous tissue. These types of peels are used to treat very deep wrinkles, advanced sun damage, extensive scarring, and precancerous lesions over a large area of skin.
